A Welsh menu

It's St David's Day so we thought we'd honour the rolling countryside and valleys of Wales with a Welsh-inspired menu of warming Caerphilly cheese soup, easy lamb casserole, a creamy leek gratin and Eve pudding.

A Welsh menu
Cheese soup with toasties

Cheese soup with toasties

This thick and creamy soup is made from Caerphilly, from south and west Wales; it's an unpasteurised, vegetarian hard cheese.

Lamb and pearl barley casserole with mustard and parsley dumplings

Lamb and pearl barley casserole with mustard and parsley dumplings

This lamb casserole recipe can be made then put in the freezer ready for a cold evening. The cheesy dumplings will win anyone's heart. Worth every calorie!

Creamy leek gratin

Creamy leek gratin

Make vegetables more than just a sideline with this tasty leek gratin. This goes beautifully with both lamb and pork chops or even with a juicy steak.

Eve pudding

Eve pudding

This pud is aptly named after Eve and, naturally enough, features apples. The apples stew in their own juices under the delicious vanilla sponge for a tangy fruit pud.
