Christmas for two has never looked so good. Kick it all off with a pear and blue cheese soufflé which we suggest you serve warm to make the most of its oozy centre. For main course, choose from stuffed poussins, mushroom pithiviers or potato dauphinoise tarts (beware: this is not a meal for the faint-hearted).

Then, finish on an equally indulgent note with these chocolate truffle pots. The recipe makes enough for four so halve the quantities if you wish or enjoy them again on Boxing Day.
