On Saturday 25 September 2010 be sure to visit The Brickhouse in East London to witness an annual exhibition that's a must-see for any food lover.
The Experimental Food Society Spectacular is an exceptional installation that showcases the unique talents of many culinary artists including jellymongers, bakers, dining conceptualists, cake artists, butter and chocolate sculptors, food landscapers and food performers.
At the daytime exhibition (11am-5pm) you can take part in the interactive exhibits, sample the edible art and watch some of the artists at work as well as pick up recipes and tips on how to get experimental in the kitchen. Suitable for all ages, the exhibition includes an installation designed specifically for children.
From 7.30pm there's an extraordinary banquet finale where 100 diners feast on a five-course menu made from the artwork while revelling in an evening of food-inspired performance.
Highlights include installations by Bompas & Parr, Carl Warner, Choc Star, Lily Vanilli, Love To Cake, Paul Wayne Gregory, Pop Bakery, Rebel Dining Society and The Curious Confectioner. The event will also feature a guest appearance by international chocolate painter Sid Chidiac.
