Find a recipe for every occasion
Love it or loathe it, World Cup football is the fixture of the next few weeks. Such an occasion demands 'sharing food', so we asked former MasterChef winner Thomasina Miers to rustle up a Mexican feast. Enjoy our World Cup recipes and choice beers.

Stock up on the amber nectar for this Mexican feast – but don’t make it just any old big-brand lager, says delicious. magazine wine editor Susy Atkins
How to talk football (like you know what you’re talking about)
“There are no easy games these days” “They’re really closing us down” “They need to play it down the channels” “We need to play with more composure/passion/width” {use one every 10 mins} “The goalie made himself big” {no sniggers} “Route one is all we’ve got left”
What not to say
“What’s the offside rule again?” “Hollyoaks is just starting on Channel 4” “He’s got nice legs”

Jalapeño chillies have a great kick. Plus, their large size and bulbous shape make them perfect for stuffing. This is an easy stuffed chilli recipe to do in advance.
The joy of a real Mexican chilli recipe is in its use of proper chunks of meat, which have bags more flavour and, thanks to slow cooking, melt in the mouth.
These recommended South African wines are a nod to the World Cup’s host nation, which now produces some of the best wines on the planet. Susy Atkins picks a bunch of high-scorers.
