Growing up in the kitchen was an essential part of Meera Syal’s upbringing. And now the 48-year-old actress is determined to pass on the passion.

This is a great soup recipe if you have low energy. This makes a big portion, so freeze what you don’t eat, then have it later.

This bread and butter pudding recipe is a favourite of actress Meera Syal. She says it's real comfort food, and a good dessert to rustle up if you’ve got guests coming over.
