As well as providing 60 mouthwatering, beautifully shot recipes, the charming Willie of C4’s Willie’s Wonky Chocolate Factory tells his extraordinary story about how he risked bankruptcy to buy a cacao farm in the Cloud Mountains of Venezuela and a chocolate factory in Devon. Willie’s chocolate now sells in some of the best shops in the country, so he must have got something right.

Paul A. Young is a bit of a legend in the world of chocolate. An artisan chocolatier, Nigella is just one follower in his legion of fans. His new book guides the reader through a tasting masterclass and explains how to blend chocolate with flavours (and trust us, he knows – this is the man who created the Marmite truffle) before sharing recipes for sweet, savoury and drinks with chocolate.

Donna Hay has many fans, whether it’s Jamie Oliver, most of the delicious. team, plus her numerous readers. And it’s easy to see why; her recipes are beautifully simple, and her writing style light and warm. This stylish book is a must for any chocoholic.

4. The Delia Collection: Chocolate by Delia Smith
A bit of a classic (it is Delia after all); Delia’s mantra is go slow and give chocolate the respect it deserves. If you follow Delia’s instructions to the letter you can’t go far wrong on any of the 50 recipes in this choccy tome.

5. Divine Heavenly Chocolate Recipes with a Heart by Linda Collister
It has to be said that eating chocolate is a bit of a self-indulgence, so this cookbook offers you the opportunity to put something back. A celebratory book, every recipe uses Fairtrade Divine chocolate, which is made from the cocoa beans supplied by the Kuapa Kokoo farmers of Ghana, a cocoa growing co-op with more than 40,000 members and part owners of the Divine company.
