Whisky is becoming an increasingly popular drink amongst women, which is why London bar and restaurant Albannach is offering this unique event on 29 March.
Whisky is fast becoming the drink to drink for women, thanks to an increased awareness of the antioxidant properties of whisky, and images of celebrities such as KT Tunstall and Kate Moss imbibing, which eliminates the traditionally macho persona of whisky in place of sophistication and elegance.
With over 130 different malt whiskies, Albannach boasts one to suit every taste, from cherry flavours to butterscotch. On 29 March 2011, from 7pm-9pm, the bar is giving the fairer sex the chance to explore the different tastes and textures of whisky in its women-only whisky tasting night.
The event is taking place in the A Lounge with special guest Gillian Howell, a female distiller from Penderyn whisky. Tickets are £35.
