Pear-fect
Come see what they're good for...

Like apples, pears are a member of the rose family. Pear season begins in late summer and gains pace in early autumn, and delicious British pears are not to be missed. As well as their tasty, juicy flesh, pears have a great nutritional profile – they’re a good source of vitamin C and dietary fibre, and they make a wonderful guilt-free snack (a pear has around 90 calories). Best of all, they’re great for poaching, and combine nicely with chocolate, cheese and other naughty stuff.
