Daikon [day-kon] Also known as mooli

A white Asian radish resembling a fat carrot that has spent way too long in a dark room. Relatively mild in flavour as radishes go, it has a crisp juicy texture when eaten raw that makes it a popular garnish for sashimi. Daikon can be pickled and is available in some Asian shops. Also known as mooli.
