Grandfather’s curry powder recipe

Ingredients

  1. 4 tbsp coriander seeds
  2. 2 tbsp cumin seeds
  3. ¼ tsp fenugreek seeds
  4. 2 cloves
  5. Seeds of 6 cardamom pods
  6. ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  7. 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  8. 1 tsp cayenne pepper (halve this for
  9. a milder taste)
  10. 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Method

  1. 1. Grind or pound the whole spices in a pestle and mortar, a mini processor or electric spice grinder, and add them to the powdered ones. To preserve the flavours, keep the mix in an airtight container until you need to use it.
