Apple sauce recipe

You can't eat roast pork without apple sauce so we've rustled up an easy recipe for you, which can be frozen for your convenience.

Apple sauce

Ingredients

  1. 500g Bramley apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  2. 50g caster sugar
  3. 25g butter

Method

  1. 1. Put the chopped apples into a saucepan with 150ml water and the sugar. Cover and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring often, until very soft. Remove the lid and simmer until all the water has evaporated.
  2. 2. Remove from the heat and beat in the butter with a wooden spoon or an electric hand whisk until really smooth. Serve with the roast pork.
