This easy recipe for cranberry liqueur is a brilliant blend of Christmassy things - it's guaranteed to be a hit at your drinks party.
Ingredients
- Juice of 2 large oranges
- 400ml cranberry juice
- 75g dried cranberries
- 150ml Cointreau or other orange liqueur
Method
- 1. Mix together the orange juice, cranberry juice, dried cranberries and Cointreau, then pour into a sterilised sealable 700ml bottle. Leave to stand in a cool dark place for 3 days (the cranberries will absorb the juices, become plump and float to the top). Once opened, store the liqueur in the fridge and use within 5 days.
Chef's tip
Use as the base for a cranberry fizz cocktail: pop a couple of ice cubes into a tall champagne or martini glass, half-fill with cranberry liqueur and top up with sparkling dry white wine.
Make ahead: This liqueur can be made up to 2 months in advance.
