French beans

Ingredients

  1. 350g French beans
  2. 2 tbsp water

Method

  1. 1. Cut the stalk ends off French beans.
  2. 2. Put into a heatproof bowl with 2 tablespoons of cold water. Cover with cling film and use a knife to pierce twice. Microwave on high for 6 minutes, then use an oven glove to remove the bowl from the microwave.
  3. 3. Put to one side for 2 minutes, then carefully peel off the cling film, starting at the back of the bowl (or the steam may scald your face). Stand a colander in the sink, tip in the French beans to drain and put in a serving dish.
