Garlic mash recipe

Give your mash a lift by adding some garlic butter. Your vegetarian friends will love it too.

Garlic mash

Ingredients

  1. 1.1kg floury potatoes
  2. 75g butter
  3. 4 crushed garlic cloves

Method

  1. 1. Cut 1.1kg floury potatoes into chunks and put into a pan of salted water. Bring to the boil and cook for 15-20 minutes, until tender. Drain. Meanwhile, melt 75g butter, add
  2. 4 crushed garlic cloves and keep warm. Mash the potatoes until very smooth, then fold in the garlic butter, seasoning and enough milk to make a creamy mash.
