This classic winter cocktail is based on the comforting sweet ’n’ spicy flavours of American rye whiskey.
Ingredients
- 40ml American rye whiskey
- 20ml sweet vermouth
- 2 large dashes of Angostura bitters
- Ice
- A maraschino cherry, to decorate
Method
- 1. Stir 40ml American rye whiskey and 20ml sweet vermouth together over ice in a jug. Add 2 large dashes of Angostura bitters.
- 2. Strain into a martini glass. A fun, kitsch decoration here is a maraschino cherry.
Chef's tip
This cocktail goes well with mini Yorkshire puds with smoked venison.
