When vegetables are boiled they lose their water-soluble vitamins, so it’s may be healthier to microwave them. They also keep their vivid colour and are easy to cook al dente. Try this easy dish of microwaved crunchy green vegetables.
Ingredients
- 100g asparagus
- 100g broccoli
- 100g extra fine beans
- 100g sugar snaps
- 3 tbsp water
- 25g butter
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
Method
- 1. Put extra fine beans, sugar snaps, asparagus and broccoli, cut into small florets, into a dish with water.
- 2. Cover with cling film and pierce several times. Cook on high (900W) for 6 minutes, then leave to stand.
- 3. Put butter and sesame seeds into a dish, cover as before and microwave on high (900W) for 2 minutes or until golden.
- 4. Drain the vegetables. Drizzle with the sesame butter and sprinkle with sea salt to serve.
