These smoked salmon rice balls are the taste of Japan - and they're so simple to make.
Ingredients
- Cooked sushi rice (see How to make sushi in the Know how section)
- Smoked salmon
- Fresh dill, pickled ginger or wasabi, to serve
Method
- 1. With wet hands, shape the cooked rice into 18 balls.
- 2. Lay out some cling film on a board, top with a thin slice of smoked salmon and place a rice ball in the centre.
- 3. Use the cling film to bring the fish up around the rice, then twist the cling film tightly at the top. Repeat to make 18.
- 4. Unwrap and discard the cling film and garnish with fresh dill, pickled ginger or wasabi. Serve with some soy sauce to dip into.
