Sticky marmalade duck recipe

Don't have time to make duck a l'orange? Try this Chinese style cheat's version of sticky marmalade duck.

Sticky marmalade duck

Ingredients

  1. 2 duck breasts
  2. 100g marmalade
  3. 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  4. 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  5. A small bag of herb leaf salad

Method

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 220°C/fan200°C/gas 7. Slash the skin of 2 duck breasts in a criss-cross pattern, season and sear in a hot frying pan over a high heat for 2 minutes each side.
  2. 2. Meanwhile, in a small roasting tin mix 100g marmalade with 3 tablespoons soy sauce and 1 tablespoon sesame seeds. Add the duck and turn to coat.
  3. 3. Roast for 8-10 minutes in the oven, until golden and still a little pink in the middle. Rest for 5 minutes, then thickly slice.
  4. 4. Divide a small bag of herb leaf salad between 2 shallow bowls, top with the duck and drizzle over the pan juices. Serve with orange wedges, if you like.
