Sugar puff trees recipe

This quick recipe creates festive puff pastry trees that really melt in the mouth - give as a gift or keep in the tin at home.

Ingredients

  1. 375g pack ready rolled puff pastry
  2. 3 tbsp granulated sugar

Method

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 220°C/fan200°C/gas 7. Unroll the puff pastry sheet, lightly brush all over with water and sprinkle with the sugar. Using a Christmas tree cutter (or draw your own template) stamp out Christmas tree shapes. Put on a baking sheet, leaving space between each tree. Bake for 10-12 minutes until risen and golden. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with a little more sugar, if liked. Serve with whipped cream and jam.
  2. 2. To give as a gift, arrange in a suitable box and eat within 2 days.
