Sweet potato and chilli chips recipe

Give yourself a break from heavy, rich dishes and try this light and tasty side dish instead. This dish goes with burgers or home-made fish fingers as a lighter option than regular chips.

Sweet potato and chilli chips

Ingredients

  1. 5-6 sweet potatoes
  2. 3 tbsp olive oil
  3. Lots of salt and pepper
  4. 1 red chilli, deseeded and chopped
  5. 1 tsp black mustard seeds

Method

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 220°C/fan200°C/gas 7. Cut the sweet potatoes into thin chips and place in a roasting tin with the olive oil, lots of salt and pepper, red chilli, and black mustard seeds. Roast for 30-40 minutes, until golden and beginning to caramelise.

Chef's tip

Try a little sweet chilli dipping sauce before roasting for an extra sticky sweetness.
