Tuna and avocado inside-out maki (uramaki) recipe

Tuna and avocado inside-out maki (uramaki)

Ingredients

  1. 200g can tuna
  2. 2 tbsp mayo
  3. 1 tsp wasabi
  4. Cooked sushi rice (see How to make sushi in the Know how section)
  5. 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  6. 1-2 strips of round lettuce
  7. Some thin avocado slices

Method

  1. 1. Mix a 200g can tuna with 2 tbsp mayo and 1 tsp wasabi.
  2. 2. Place a toasted nori sheet on a board and spread a third of the rice on top in a 1cm layer. Sprinkle over 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds and pat down.
  3. 3. Cover with cling film, then the rolling mat and quickly turn over.
  4. 4. Place 1-2 strips of round lettuce across the middle of the nori, top with a third of the tuna mix and thin avocado slices.
  5. 5. Roll firmly. Repeat twice more. Cut each roll into 6 pieces. Makes 18 pieces.
