This classic cranberry sauce recipe is so easy you’ll wonder why you ever used shop-bought.

Ingredients

Grated zest and juice of 1 orange
175g caster sugar
75ml port
600g fresh cranberries

Method

1. Put the orange zest and juice, sugar and port in a small pan over a low heat. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
2. Add the cranberries and simmer gently for 8-10 minutes or until just soft and the sauce has thickened.
3. Allow to cool before serving.
