We’re delighted to once again team up with the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) to find the People’s Favourite Restaurant 2018 – your go-to place for food that not only tastes good but does good too.
In 2017, delicious. readers were won over by the mix of tasty organic burgers and coffee, and the heart-warming story behind them, at Lucky Beach Café in Brighton.
How you can get involved
Help us find this year’s People’s Favourite and you could win a fabulous mini-break at Les Orangeries, an idyllic boutique hotel in rural Western France. The winners will travel there Business Premier style, courtesy of Eurostar.
Les Orangeries, is a hidden gem of a hotel, in the small town of Lussac-les-Châteaux in the Poitou-Charentes region. Its restaurant looks out over a beautiful garden with a swimming pool. During their stay the winners will enjoy a dinner from a menu inspired by the finest ingredients from local farms and the hotel’s own organic garden and whose wine list features carefully selected local, natural wines. And the included breakfast is pretty good too.
Travelling to Les Orangeries couldn’t be more simple thanks to Eurostar. The winners will receive two return Business Premier tickets, from London St Pancras via Paris, and train travel on to Lussac. They will travel in style, onboard the new e320 train and enjoy a menu designed by Michelin-starred chef and Eurostar Business Premier Culinary Director, Raymond Blanc OBE.
For your chance to win, tell us by 30 June 2018, in no more than 150 words, how your favourite place makes meals that really matter. For example, is the menu created entirely with impeccably sourced ingredients from artisan local suppliers? Is the restaurant a crucial cog in the heart of your community? Or maybe, like last year’s winner Lucky Beach, it manages to combine the two elements.
We’ll welcome nominations for your local pub, café or fish and chip shop just as much as for a fine dining restaurant. You just need to convince us of their sustainability credentials.
To help you make your choice, and to give your favourite the best chance of making the People’s Favourite shortlist, we’ve highlighted what we’re looking for on the competition form below.
There are many recipes for a ‘good’ restaurant and dozens of hidden gems out there. The SRA believes there are 10 key ingredients that combine to make a restaurant good. Restaurants that do all 10 are definitely good. Tick the ones that your favourite place to eat is doing.
After nominations close, on 30 June 2018, our panel of judges, including delicious. editor Karen Barnes and Mike Palmer of Lucky Beach, will whittle the entries down to a shortlist which we’ll publish in the August 2018 issue of delicious. You’ll then have until 31 August 2018 to vote for the People’s Favourite Restaurant. The winner will be revealed in October 2018 and presented at the SRA’s Food Made Good Awards on 1 October 2018.
For your chance to win, please fill out your details below. Then, on the next page, tick the boxes that apply to your favourite place to eat and tell us (in 150 words or less) why your favourite restaurant should be the People’s Favourite Restaurant 2018.
