Supermarket opening times and last-order dates for Christmas food 2021

The big day is getting closer and Christmas delivery slots are fast becoming as rare as sightings of Santa’s sleigh, so get yours booked as soon as you can. Below you’ll find the cut-off dates for Christmas food to order deliveries at M&S Food (Ocado), Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Morrisons, Waitrose and Booths, plus Christmas opening times for all major retailers, including Asda, Booths and Iceland.

Supermarket opening times and last-order dates for Christmas food 2021

Christmas is always the busiest time of the year for UK supermarkets – and for the major retailers, Christmas 2021 is turning out to be busier than ever.

As Christmas Day gets closer, delivery slots are becoming as hard to find as the sixpence in the Christmas pudding, so book yours sooner rather than later. For ease, we’ve rounded up the cut-off dates for last orders on Christmas grocery deliveries at Aldi, Asda, Booths, Iceland, M&S Food (Ocado), Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose, plus Christmas store opening times.

Asda

Can I book an online delivery? Unfortunately, many delivery slots between 22-23 December are now full. We found a few available on 20-21 December, plus Click and Collect options.

What are Asda’s Christmas 2021 opening hours?

Christmas Eve: 6am-7pm
Christmas Day: Closed
Boxing Day: 10am-4pm
Sunday 27 to Wednesday 30 December: normal opening hours (find your local Asda here)
New Year’s Eve: 7am-7pm
New Year’s Day: 10am-5pm

Morrisons

Can I book an online delivery? Many of the online slots are now taken for delivery (Delivery Pass customers get priority for deliveries between 20-24 December) but you can order food online and collect at your nearest store.

What are Morrisons’ Christmas 2021 opening hours?

Christmas Eve: 6am-6pm
Christmas Day: Closed
Boxing Day: Closed
Sunday 27 to Wednesday 30 December: normal opening hours (find your local Morrisons here)
New Year’s Eve: 7am-6pm
New Year’s Day: 9am-6pm

Tesco

Can I book an online delivery? Most delivery slots are now gone. Click+Collect slots are still available for 13-19 December.

When is the cut-off date for Christmas orders? Festive Food to Order items must be ordered by 11.45pm on 14 December. Other items that aren’t part of this range can be ordered up to 11.45pm the day before your booked slot.

What are Tesco’s Christmas 2021 opening hours?

From 20 December up to Christmas Eve, 300+ large Tesco stores will be open 24 hours a day.
Christmas Eve: open until 7pm; Express stores open until 10pm
Christmas Day: Closed
Boxing Day: 10am-4pm; Express stores open 9am-7pm
Sunday 27 to Wednesday 30 December: normal opening hours
New Year’s Eve: 7am-7pm
New Year’s Day: 8am-6pm; Express stores open until 10pm

Sainsbury’s

Can I book a Delivery? Most delivery slots are now gone, but Sainsbury’s Christmas Food to Order slots are still available for collection on 22, 23 or 24 December.

What are Sainsbury’s Christmas 2021 opening hours?

20-23 December: 6am-11pm
Christmas Eve: 6am-7pm (applies to most Sainsbury’s stores, some open from 7am)
Christmas Day: closed
Boxing Day: closed

M&S

Can I still book Christmas Food to order? Unfortunately all M&S Christmas Food to Order slots are now booked up for 2021. You can still shop in store, or order M&S products through Ocado.

What are M&S Food’s Christmas 2021 opening hours?

From 20-23 December, many M&S stores (including food-only stores) will open until midnight. Check here to see if your local M&S Food is one of them. .Christmas Eve: 6am-6pm
Christmas Day: closed
Boxing Day: closed

Ocado

Can I book an online delivery? Unfortunately, all Ocado delivery slots are full for the Christmas 2021 period. Check the Ocado website for possible extra delivery slots in December.

Waitrose

Can I book an online delivery? Most Christmas delivery slots are now booked, but it’s worth checking the website. Some click & collect and Entertaining click & collect slots are still available (see below)

When is the cut-off date for Christm.as orders? For Waitrose Christmas Food to Order, order by 15 December for delivery before Christmas. Or collect Waitrose Entertaining orders in store on 21, 22, 23 or 24 December.

What are Waitrose’s Christmas 2021 opening hours?

December 21-23: until until 11pm (larger stores); until 12am (some convenience stores)
Christmas Eve: 7am-6pm
Christmas Day: closed
Boxing Day: closed
New Year’s Eve: 8am-6pm
New Year’s Day: closed (larger stores closed; some smaller stores open 7am-10pmt

Can I book an online delivery? Aldi doesn’t offer online delivery. Check availability for click and collect slots here.

20-23 December: 7am-10pm

Christmas Day: closed
Boxing Day: closed
27-30 December: Normal opening hours
New Year’s Eve: 8am-6pm
New Year’s Day: closed

Iceland

Can I book an online delivery? You need to place your Iceland Christmas food order a few days in advance of delivery:

Order from 13 December for delivery on 18 December
Order from 14 December for delivery on 19 December
Order from 15 December for delivery on 20 December
Order from 16 December for delivery on 21 December
Order from 17December for delivery on 22 December

What are Iceland’s Christmas 2021 opening hours?

TBC, but Iceland has confirmed that its stores will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Booths

Can I book an online delivery? Delivery is limited to a handful of postcodes in the Chorley area (click here for more information). Collection slots are available (see below).

When is the cut-off date for Christmas orders? You need to order by 15 December for collection in the week leading up to Christmas. Bear in mind that certain perishable dishes can only be collected one or two days before Christmas Day.
