Lina Stores, Soho’s famous Italian delicatessen is offering a Valentine’s At Home box this year. The kit, adorned in their famous green and white striped packaging, contains fresh focaccia, Bella di Cerignola olives, cured Coppa and Tuscan Pecordino Cacio di Pienza Nero cheese, one pasta kit for two of your choice, a bottle of Italian Prosecco, and a seriously indulgent baci brownie to finish. If you’re looking for something extravagant to impress a date, this three-course meal from high-end London butcher HG Walter is not going to disappoint. The starter of Cornish white crab, pickled kohlrabi, fennel puree, corn shoots and sourdough is looks far more impressive than the time it takes to get on the plate, and is the perfect light and refreshing way to kick off the meal. The main course of contre-fillet sirloin is generous indeed, and comes with macaroni pasta with cheese sauce, short rib ragu and a pangrattato crumb, as well as purple sprouting and red wine jus. You’ll not be leaving the dinner table hungry here. The pudding is a seasonal highlight, for it’s not just a chocolate pud: it’s a soft and moreish fondant served with blood orange segments, blood orange and prosecco jus.
