A celebration of harvest in Bridford

Every year in Bridford, Devon, local veg growers, allotment-tenders, cooks and foragers gather at The Bridford Growers’ Feast. Friends and neighbours are invited to join in this annual celebration of ultra-local food.

 

In autumn 2016, we headed along for a taste of the action and we captured in photos the lead-up to the event.

A small wooden sign, nailed to a tree, tells visitors that this is Whippletree Farm. The farm provides much of the feast’s produce.

Fresh young herbs are crammed into a tiny food processor. A drizzle here, a dollop there, the pesto will add colour to any dish.
