What they do:
After graduating from the acclaimed Ashburton Chefs Academy in Devon, Clare went on to develop a range of jams and marmalades, basing herself in the small market town of Bovey Tracey.
Clare makes every product by hand using traditional open-pan methods and is fanatical about not taking shortcuts, ensuring she makes perfect products she can confidently put her name to. Clare is careful when sourcing ingredients, and where possible uses fruit picked to order from local growers.
Clare is keen to keep the rest of her suppliers local too, and gets her packaging from Somerset and Devon, honey from local Dartmoor beekeepers and gin from Wicked Wolf, a small batch distillery in the Exmoor area.
After receiving guidance from a fellow producer when starting out, Clare understands the importance of supporting new ventures, and has given back by passing on her business knowledge to fledgling companies.

The judges were impressed by Clare’s drive and enthusiasm for her product, and applauded her for using locally sourced produce and packaging.
