Be A Better Cook podcast series: Steven Edwards

A new series for the new decade: I learn how to take cooking skills to the next level in our Be A Better Cook podcasts and this week, I’m with the 2013 winner of Masterchef The Professional Steven Edwards.

What’s one of the trickiest ingredients to prepare? Top of many cooks’ lists would be the globe artichoke – in fact, many people avoid the task altogether. At the height of the artichoke season in the summer, we asked chef Steven Edwards to talk through how it’s done.

Tune in for a new episode of the delicious. podcast every Thursday.

Back in 2013, Steven Edwards was the youngest ever MasterChef winner at the age of 26, and he’s been on a bit of a journey since finishing the hit cookery show. At the time, he was already doing his dream job as a head chef, and so he discusses how winning Masterchef The Professionals gave him the courage to push on even further in his career.

Shortly afterwards, he opened up his own restaurant, the acclaimed Etch, in Brighton – now winning its own accolades. Steven explains why he loves fine-dining cooking – and why he’s determined to improve the working life of chefs.
