Smoky beef chilli with black beans

Jennifer Joyce’s smoky beef chilli recipe is full of fresh Mexican flavours and packed with black beans and a real chilli heat.

  1. You can order pasilla/guajillo chillies online from souschef.co.uk, or Whole Foods carries a wide range of Mexican dried chilies. A blender or pestle and mortar is better for this than a food processor because it will help it purée smoother.

  2. You can prepare the beef up to 72 hours in advance, leave in the fridge in a sealed container. Alternatively freeze up to 1 month.
