The traditional Sunday lunch menu

To all you die-hard traditionalists out there who wouldn’t dream of serving anything other than a roast dinner on Sunday, this is the menu for you. It starts with a simple (but tasty) sweet potato soup followed by our epic roast topside of beef with crispy potatoes and gravy.

And for pudding? We’ve selected one of the best British puds you can think of. Scroll down to discover it all…

What’s for starters?

A seriously simple sweet potato soup recipe (the soup alone requires just five ingredients) served with garlicky ciabatta toasts. To serve, sprinkle over a handful of toasted pumpkin seeds and a drizzle of single cream.

What’s for mains?

Make Sunday lunch extra special with this properly good roast beef recipe. It’s smothered in a three-ingredient mustard coating and cooked until perfectly pink in the middle. You couldn’t serve it with anything other than crispy roast potatoes and gravy – so we haven’t.

What’s for pudding?

This might just be the ultimate British pudding: a custardy, warming and satisfyingly dense bread and butter pudding. It’s a canny way of using up stale bread (fresh doesn’t really work here) so you can enjoy it safe in the knowledge that you’re doing your bit to tackle food waste.

Next time, try swapping white bread for leftover brioche or croissants for a richer, sweeter twist.
