What is a chickpea? Well, it’s a legume, but more importantly chickpeas are a versatile, protein-filled and budget option for many a meal – in their own right, or to bulk out a main course. They’re a brilliant choice for those who don’t eat meat. You might also see them labelled garbanzo beans.
