Ingredients

  • Knob of butter
  • 3 firm apples, such as braeburn or granny smith, quartered and thickly cut into wedges
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

Method

  1. Melt the butter in a non-stick frying pan set over a medium heat. Once the butter stops foaming, add the apple wedges and season with a little salt and a grinding of black pepper. Cook, stirring, for about 5 minutes until the apples are starting to brown.
  2. Add the maple syrup and cook for a further 2-3 minutes until golden and the sauce is slightly syrupy. Serve alongside the pork.
