Surrounded by the rolling Dorset hills near the village of Evershot, the Grade II-listed Summer Lodge Country House Hotel & Spa combines traditional style and comfort with innovative menus.

The Relais & Châteaux boutique hotel is set in four acres of gardens with a spa, indoor pool, tennis court and acres of countryside to explore.

Our winner and guest will also enjoy a three-course dinner at the hotel’s three-AA-Rosette restaurant, where chef Steven Titman uses local produce (some from the hotel’s kitchen garden) to create his modern British dishes. The excellent food is complemented by world-class wines chosen by sommelier Eric Zwiebel.

  1. Not sure if entry went through online… but loved having a go at the Cherry Pie #imadeitdelicious from the July magazine… some of the pastry flowers swam a little in the luscious cherry filling but I know they are there! Was a lovely summery recipe just right for the English cherry season….

  2. In the middle of a heat wave so a meal with tomatoes, garlic and burrata made a perfect lunch, served with a freshly baked loaf and a bit of avocado on the side.

  3. I #madeitdelicious with the Mediterranean sausage, vegetable and gnocchi tray roast from the July issue. The Food Team’s tip said I could use any seasonal vegetables, as I didn’t have any fennel or courgette. In the end, I grabbed a variety of frozen vegetables that I had on standby in my freezer, including butternut squash and sliced mixed peppers, and it was truly a delicious dinner!

  4. Made the Smoked haddock and bacon potato gratin, absolutely delicious. Made a smaller version just for myself and my daughter, so filling, ate every single bit.
