Women? A dog? Children? Smiles? What kind of beer festival is this?!

By Les Dunn

Another weekend, another beer festival. But this one’s a bit different. Beer By The River, in Morden Hall Park in south London, is family friendly. Yes, a family friendly beer festival – about time too!

It’s a lovely spot – I know because it’s near where I live – so I’ll be going down there with our toddler.

It’s organised by Sambrook’s Brewery in Battersea, in conjunction with the National Trust, who own the park.

They’re promising live music, high quality street-food and, judging from the website, there’ll be some exciting brews from London and further afield.

Could this be the future of beer festivals? Will let you know. Meanwhile, must be sure not to exceed the drink-push-the-buggy limit…

Beer By The River takes place 4-5 September in Morden Hall Park, London SM4 5JD.
