One of the more artistically-inspired eggs that came through the doors of delicious. HQ this season. Angular, marbled and housing salted pretzel pieces, this egg is a welcome step up from basic white chocolate. Co-op have embraced the wonders of golden chocolate, doubling down on the silken richness that comes from it. £7 for 200g
Pump Street Chocolate Cookie Chip 60% Dark Milk Chocolate Easter Egg
Intensely concentrated indulgence from the team at Pump Street Chocolate. Salted and crumby, the lighter biscuit notes compliment the dark milk chocolate nicely. A great choice for anyone that finds dark chocolate a tad much. £44 for 180g
Monty Bojangles Choccy Scoffy Easter Egg & Truffles
Sometimes all you need at Easter is a good old fashioned egg with great quality milk chocolate. Classic is the word for this – smooth, indulgent milk chocolate with great snap. The addition of the cocoa-dusted truffles is a nice touch too. £10 for 175g, available from Waitrose and Amazon

If you favour an everything-all-at-once approach to your confectionery, this half-egg creation will provide all the Easter joy you could ever wish for: pretzels, crisp-shelled mini eggs, jelly pieces, white chocolate covered popcorn. We’re crying happy tears. £12 for 265g
Hotel Chocolat The Ostrich Egg Classic
The sheer size of this egg from Hotel Chocolat is almost comical. The huge shell involves more than a kilo of choc: half 40% milk chocolate with crunchy cookies and puffed rice and half 50% milk chocolate with crispy feuilletine. At over 5cm thick, it’s dense, textured and nuanced in flavour. It even includes 20 truffles, pralines, caramels and posh chocolates in a sleek tin. £90 for 1.04kg
Waitrose No1 Dark Chocolate & Nut Flat Egg
This didn’t last five minutes at delicious. HQ. Waitrose is flying the flag for this year’s trend of the chocolate ‘flat egg’ – and this one is the standout. Silky, slightly smoky dark chocolate is adorned with crisp hazelnut praline, a hollow half smaller egg and a generous scattering of flaked almonds, caramelised hazelnuts and pecan pieces. Pure class. £12 for 204g

The brand has brought a new level of sophistication to the world of long-weekend treats with this stylish Easter Sleekster chocolate box.
