Beef without horseradish sauce is like a car without wheels. Make your own for a roast that’s really special.


  • 4 tbsp grated fresh hot horseradish
  • 2 tbsp crème fraîche
  • 2 tbsp double cream
  • ¼ tsp English mustard
  • A pinch of sugar
  • Salt, to taste


  1. Mix the fresh horseradish with 2 tbsp crème fraîche and 2 tbsp double cream, ¼ tsp English mustard and a pinch of sugar. Season with salt to taste.
