Some very secret dining


The name’s Cream. Ambrosia Cream. Or at least it was last Tuesday when I braved the back streets of Haggerston on an immersive dining experience with Gingerline. The premise was simple – we were secret agents, and we had to make it to the special ‘Research and Tasting Facility’ without attracting the attention of (duh duh duhhhhh…) The Syndicate.

If that sounds a trifle cheesy, well, you’d be right. But as we picked up clues that led us to our final destination, dressed in silly hats and all a bit giggly, I did have to concede that it was actually quite fun. Once we found it the dining room (sorry…Tasting Facility) itself was atmospheric, unexpected and really quite impressive, and there was plenty to keep us entertained throughout our four course dinner. Sadly I’m not allowed to divulge any of the goings on, as Gingerline, the company who runs these experiences asks for absolute secrecy after events so as not to spoil it for others.

However, if you fancy a night of pretending to be someone you’re not, or feeling achingly hip hanging out in secret East London warehouses, then their next event might very well be for you. Just don’t tell them who sent you…
