The Platinum Jubilee menu

For all of you out there who wouldn’t dream of serving anything other than a Jubilee-themed meal on the bank holiday weekend, this menu is a dedication to you. It starts with diddy snacks such of vol au vents and pork pies paired with an epic cocktail for a crowd in the form of our Jubilee punch.

For mains, our coronation chicken salad keeps things fresh and light. And for pudding? We’ve selected one of the best puds you can think of. Scroll down to discover it all…

The Platinum Jubilee menu

What’s for starters?

It’s only right to start things off with an aperitif. Our Jubilee punch is made with Earl Gray tea, elderflower cordial, and of course, that most British of spirits: gin. Then serve a starter of nibbles to impress: watercress vol au vents with smoked trout or cheese, and our mini pork pies. To serve, scatter over a handful of sliced rashishes and you’re away.

What’s for mains?

Make Jubilee lunch extra special with this properly good roast coronation chicken salad. What makes it special? It’s not chicken, but poussin in our recipe, roasted to perfection for crisp skin, then doused in a dressing of mayonnaise, greek yogurt, mint, mango chutney, spring onions and lemon zest. It’s topped with crispy poppadoms for crunch, and take it from us, it’s anything but just a salad.

Our veggie option is a cheese and onion quiche, using a jar of caramelised onions for ease and full-on flavour. With a side of buttery jersey royals with broad beans, you can’t beat this frankly.

What’s for pudding?

This is where the real fun happens. You could either go FULL ON GLAMOUR with our gloriously OTT strawberry cake, with three layers of sponge sandwiched with lemon curd, berries and cream, then topped with a strawberry meringue crown.

OR, take our Jubilee cheesecakes for a whirl! Perhaps you’re feeding a small army, in which case you could create your very own Union Jack masterpiece to dazzle your guests…

But if that seems way over-the-top, opt for your favourite of champagne jelly, blueberry gin and tonic or Dubonnet and get mixing. Each is spectacular in its own right, so let your favourite tipple be the guide…
