Nothing says summer’s on its way quite like a food festival, and this one in the heart of Edinburgh’s St James Quarter celebrates the best of Scottish seafood. With free entry to the festival (as well as bookable extras to enjoy), Edinburgh Seafood Festival is a great family day out for the May bank holiday weekend.
You’ll find a host of stimulating activities taking place across the weekend – from live masterclasses to intimate supper clubs (tickets required) to indulge your senses. Kids can enjoy interactive under-the-sea-themed activities, including face painting.
Meet the experts on the Seafood Stage
Get a front-row seat as culinary experts do their thing, with exciting cooking demonstrations and interactive masterclasses from the likes of Sandy Browning (Ka Pao), Gary Maclean (Creel Caught), Jimmy Lee (Salt & Chilli) and Teddy Lee (Maki & Ramen), with more names still to be announced. They’ll be dishing up the best food and cocktails while sharing industry secrets, so you can re-create restaurant-quality dishes at home.
Make it special with a supper club
St James Quarter is bringing back its much-loved supper clubs, offering guests an intimate dining experience with leading chefs. Get up close and personal with a seat at the chef’s table, then enjoy an exclusive menu of exceptional fare. With only 12 tickets available for each supper club, you’ll need to be quick – keep an eye out for ticket info on the St James Quarter website.

On Saturday 3 May, join delicious. editorial director Laura Rowe and head of food Tom Shingler (below) at the Seafood Stage for cosy chats with top chefs, food writers and producers.
