Ingredients

40ml American rye whiskey
20ml sweet vermouth
2 large dashes of Angostura bitters
Ice
A maraschino cherry, to decorate, optional

Method

Stir the whiskey and sweet vermouth together over ice in a jug. Add the Angostura bitters.
Strain into a martini glass. A fun, kitsch decoration here is a maraschino cherry.

This cocktail goes well with mini Yorkshire puds with smoked venison.
