A poolside classic, this combo of tequila and orange juice is sweetened by a shot of grenadine, which gives the cocktail its iconic look as the syrup slowly sinks to the bottom.

Ingredients

60ml tequila
120ml orange juice
10ml grenadine
1 orange slice to garnish
1 maraschino cherry to garnish

Method

Fill a highball glass with ice, then pour in the tequila and orange juice, giving it a good stir. Carefully pour in the grenadine around the inside rim of the glass – it should slowly sink to the bottom, creating a gradient. Garnish with the orange slice and cherry.
