- 2 tbsp olive oil
- any vegetable trimmings (from your main meal or side dish)
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼tsp sugar
- 1½tbsp flour
- 1½tbsp soy sauce
- 450ml boiling water
- Heat olive oil in a roasting tin on the hob. Stir in any vegetable trimmings (from your main meal or side dish), salt and sugar.
- Transfer to the oven and roast for 20 minutes. Put back on the hob over a medium heat. Stir in flour, cook for 1 minute then add soy sauce and just-boiled water.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, or until thickened slightly. Season, strain and serve.
