2 tbsp olive oil
any vegetable trimmings (from your main meal or side dish)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp sugar
11/2 tbsp flour
11/2 tbsp soy sauce
450ml boiling water
1. Heat olive oil in a roasting tin on the hob. Stir in any vegetable trimmings (from your main meal or side dish), salt and sugar.
2. Transfer to the oven and roast for 20 minutes. Put back on the hob over a medium heat. Stir in flour, cook for 1 minute then add soy sauce and just-boiled water.
3. Simmer for 5 minutes, or until thickened slightly. Season, strain and serve.
