It’s plum season – hurrah! Our best-ever plum recipes make the most of this underrated fruit, which are usually available from August to October.
- Cosy puddings: Plums are the perfect addition to autumnal puds. Think plum crumble with custard, spiced plum cake with swiss-meringue frosting or easy plum and almond traybake.
- Savoury ideas: Plums work well in savoury dishes thanks to their natural tartness and gentle sweetness. Try duck with spiced plums, or colourful mozzarella, plum and burnt leek salad.
- Preserve the harvest: Japanese umeboshi can be made with British plums, or try an easy plum and vanilla jam.
