Fruit chaat

Ingredients

  • 400g apples, cored and chopped into bite-size pieces
  • 220g white grapes
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • 280g tinned pineapple, drained and chopped into bite-size pieces
  • Handful pomegranate seeds

For the dressing

  • 100ml freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 3 tbsp caster sugar
  • 1½ tsp chaat masala
  • ½ tsp black salt (kala namak, see Know How), optional
  • Pinch mild chilli powder
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 25g mint leaves, chopped, plus extra to serve

Method

  1. Mix all the dressing ingredients together in a bowl. Tip all the fruit (except the pomegranate seeds) into another bowl, then pour over the dressing. Give everything a good stir, then leave to marinate for an hour in the fridge.
  2. Serve the chaat garnished with the pomegranate seeds and extra mint leaves.
