Cabbage recipes

Cabbage: a leafy green that’s a British staple. This versatile vegetable comes in many forms (white, sweetheart, red, savoy to name a few) that can be steamed, sautéed or eaten raw.

Make it the centrepiece with recipes like our charred cabbage with harissa butter or this lamb and buckwheat stuffed cabbage, whizz it into a green mac and cheese, or use it up in bubble and squeak (complete with marmite and cheddar).

It doesn’t just have to be cooked. Try pickling it with cabbage asazuke, make a salad with it raw with hazelnuts, olives and raisins, make a sauerkraut, or try a slaw.
