Air fryer crispy chickpeas are a delicious crunchy snack or side dish – and are so easy to make and customise.
- Easy side dish: Golden nuggets of creamy chickpeas are even more delicious when crisped up in an air fryer and sprinkled with your favourite spices.
- Make them your own: Play around with the spices sprinkled on your chickpeas depending on what you’re serving them with. You could also stir some finely grated lemon or lime zest through after they’ve cooked.
- Make ahead idea: These are delightful warm from the air fryer but will also keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week to sprinkle over dishes or enjoy as a snack. Pop them in the air fryer for a minute to heat them up if you prefer them warm.
Combine crispy chickpeas with roasted aubergine and whipped feta in this easy air fryer meal.
Ingredients
- 400g tin chickpeas, drained
- ½ tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp smoked paprika

Method
- Heat the air fryer to 180°C.
- Put the chickpeas in a bowl and toss with the cumin, paprika, a good pinch of salt, some freshly cracked black pepper and the olive oil.
- Tip into the air fryer basket and cook for 10-12 minutes, shaking halfway, until crisp and golden.
- Season with salt flakes to serve.
