Jam and cream dirty soda

‘Dirty’ sodas – a US phenomenon of topping a can of something fizzy with dairy – can sound… intriguing, to say the least. But we were really surprised when we gave it a go! The creaminess mixing with the acidic fizz of the soda round each other out nicely, creating a drink which offers the best of both a milkshake and a fizzy drink. Don’t knock it until you try it!
Ingredients
- 330ml cream soda
- 1 tsp strawberry jam, mixed with a splash of water to loosen
- 25ml single cream
Method
- Fill a glass with ice, then fill the glass almost to the top with cream soda. Add the jam, dropping it into the soda from a height to create a pleasing swirl, then gently pour in the cream over the back of a spoon so it floats on top.
