Swedish recipes
Not only has Sweden given the world ABBA, IKEA and Minecraft, it’s also given us a vast amount of recipe inspiration, from meatballs to gravlax (or gravadlax), from cinnamon buns to a Swedish mint julep. You’ll find our round-up of our favourite Swedish recipes in this collection, along with a Swedish-style selection that have a firm nod to the cuisine through their use of flavour or ingredients – like dill, lingonberry, salmon and cucumber.
There are a couple of other Swedish food concepts that we can definitely get on board with. Fika is a crucial part of the Swedish day, where you simply stop for a moment for a chat over coffee and maybe a bun. Then there’s the tradition of lördagsgodis – or Saturday sweets – where the eating of candy every Saturday is practically the law.
And if you’re a Eurovision fan who’s planning a party, make sure you see what’s on offer in our Eurovision recipes collection too.
