Two Christmas icons combine…What’s not to love? As the bacon crisps up, the sprouts are almost confited in bacon fat, creating melt-in-the-mouth deliciousness. Even sprout haters will renounce their beliefs when they taste them wrapped in bacon.

Ingredients

  • 200g sprouts, halved (or kept whole if they’re quite small)
  • 200g streaky bacon rashers

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 200°C fan/gas 7. Cut each rasher of bacon in half widthways and wrap around each sprout, ensuring the bacon end finishes on the flat side of the sprout. Put them seam-side down on an oven tray to ensure they don’t spring apart while cooking. Cook for 10-15 minutes until crisp.

  1. To save time when you’re busy with the Christmas dinner (or roast), you can wrap up the sprouts and store them on an oven tray in the fridge for up to 3 days.
