Apple sauce for pork

Ingredients

  1. 400g Bramley apples
  2. Juice of ½ lemon
  3. 1½ tbsp caster sugar
  4. A little butter and salt, to serve

Method

  1. 1. Peel and dice the apples. Put in a small pan with the juice of ½ lemon, 2 tbsp water and 1½ tbsp caster sugar. Heat gently until the apples are really soft, then squash with a spoon. Add a little butter and salt to serve.

Chef's tip

Try spicing up the sauce with a pinch of ground cloves or a little allspice.
